End Gate of Oz

So me and Sherlock went searching for a place to stay over the night. It didn't take us long to find ourselves in front of a portal. It was sort of grey and red-ish, smokey even.

I didn't think it was a good idea to enter this portal. But as some shadow creatures were following us, I decided to jump into it.

I'm not sure where I am.

I feel drawn to someone. Like I need to go someplace.

To a girl.

A girl named Tjia.

Domino City's Core

Alright, I'm getting real tired of this.
It took us forever to get out of that maze, by the end I was starting to get real paranoid.
And what awaits us at the end?

A pedestal, with a single trading card on it, The Mystical Elf.

"What am I supposed to do with this?"

"Well...in my experience it's used as a card game of some sorts"

"I know that Sherlock, I want to know why this is the prize for going through that maze of nightmares"

"I liked the maze, let's go again"

"No!"

"You're no fun, anyway maybe it will come handy later, hmm?"

"I guess I can take it" I said and put it into my wallet.

After that we walked around some more, nothing really to see & wouldn't you know it before we knew it we were once again in a maze.

I better get a better card than Mystical Elf or get a prize that isn't card game-based.

Mazes & Monsters

It was just a girl, she startled me, someone who is also a victim of the Empty City, I think.
She seems friendly, although I really can't tell anymore.

Her name is Sherlock Morel, wears one of those ol' caddie hats and has pink hair. Is pink hair normal in this world? Well it was in my old one, sort of...

"Hi, you're Axiom right?"

"Uhm yeah?"

"The First Axiom?"

"First?"

"Nevermind....I was sent here by Jack to act as your guide"

"Are you associated with him?"

"Not really...I owed him a favor, was sent here to be your guide. I'm not evil, although thats probably what an evil person would say, so think what you will" She said and smiled at me.

I haven't had the best of luck trusting women in the past (Ivory, Emily...arguably Jane) so I didn't want to let my guard down. But like I said, she seemed nice.

It wasn't long before we got lost, of course we did.
The whole city turned into a maze of sorts...

Have I mentioned how much I hate mazes?

The Land of Silence

Let me make this clear. I've never in my life dealt with real fears, from my newly gained memories I can safely say that the closest was when me & Ivory went to the Archive to get the journal & we were caught by the Blind Man, aside from that incident I've only dealt with pseudo-fears like the Magic Queen, Ivory Woman, Tale Weaver & Game Master a relative who's who? of goodness.

I mean think about that for a moment. The Game Master put several people through hell, making them kill strangers for the heck of it and there was not a damn thing we could do about it. I was killed by two snake people for god's sake...they didn't know me, they killed me anyway...
What I'm saying is, think about how powerful the Game Master was....He wasn't a fear.

That makes me terrified of what the fears themselves are able to do.
I'm scared, I know I shouldn't be, but the thought keeps clinging in my mind.
What the fears are even like in THIS universe is beyond me.

I'm in the Empty City, Jack sent me there.
The Empty City from what I've heard is supposed to be a sentient city that plays with its food.
I've started to use my Journal again, I'm sure it manages to get online like the good ol' days.
There is no one here, I think I saw a couple of Nightlanders though. They didn't say anything though.

Someone is h-...dskmfjdsksd;dsslomla....

Elven Lore & Enchanting Mermaids

Jack calls this world I'm in "The World At The Edge Of Reality", I don't know if that's true or not. I can't really tell when Jack is lying or not, but the latter doesn't come up often so one could easily assume.

He told me I was going to play in a game.
What kind of game you may ask?

Well...

I have to go into the Empty City & survive. You heard me right, he sent me to the Empty City, with nothing but the clothes on my back.

I've never dealt with REAL fears before.

Wish me luck!

Aslan Would Be Ashamed

Jack told me that this is not the same world, he said that freedom meant saying goodbye to the old one.
I never really liked the old one to be honest...but I'm not liking this one anymore so far.
I'm actually surprised that Jack would do this, what would he have to gain from ripping me from the world I was born into? I mean sure it was a fear-ridden hellhole, but so could this one be for all I know.

Jack is sending me on a mission today.
I wonder what it could be...but with my luck I'm probably going to die six times by the end of it, and still turn up alive.

Húrin Betrayal

I've begun to loath existence  I just wish that the Quiet would eat me and get me out of this cycle of dying and then waking up only to be tortured by whatever entity pleases. There seems to be no reason anymore, with the Game Master & Malachai I kind of got it, reading through their back story later on, but Jack is doing this out of nothing but cruelty.

I woke up in a bedroom, with Jack watching me from the doorstep.

"Morning James"

"What do you want Jack"

"Well aren't you feisty to someone who gave you your remaining memories back"

He was right, I do remember everything now. Everything from my 4th birthday to meeting Ivory and her later betrayal of me, selling me out to the Game Master & Blind Man after we got caught stealing my journal from the Archive. I even remember what the big deal with the journal is now, its pages are woven with manufactured newborn & nightlanders in order to create a journal that can see both the past & future, as well as receiving & giving signals.

"James, I bring good news" Jack said.

"What?"

"Well...Glitch told me you have completed the challenges"

"Really?" I asked.

It didn't surprise me that the Worm & Jack would be in some kind of cahoots.

"What now?"

"Well...freedom!" Jack said.

"Of course there is the small matter of payment"

"huh?"

"The pokemon batle, you lost"

"So?"

"You owe me"

It was all too good to be true, nothing good comes out of even speaking with Jack I should've known.

"All you have to do is be in my servitude for two months. Around March I will let you go, if you're still alive that is"

Jack gave me the day off.
At least there's that.

Johto, We Hardly Knew Ye!

I woke up again in another location. I was in some kind of cabin, as I woke up I heard a bunch of noises coming from outside my room. Of course like a gullible idiot I assumed I was still in Skyrim, but the Worm would not be satisfied with that, now would he?

I found a backpack in my room, it had water, some food(of course snack bars, the Worm is really having a good laugh at my expense isn't he?) & to my surprise...a Pokeball.

I was in the world of Pokemon, which really didn't surprise me. Because technically it is a fantasy world & I did play it.

Wait...I remember me playing Pokemon, I played them when I was 14

I walked outside, only to be greeted by a bunch of pokemons & trainers walking around. It was rather irritating to behold, but at this point I had gotten used to anything.

I figured by the presence of Nurse Joy that I was in the Pokemon Center.
It wasn't long until someone approached me, as usual. But this time I recognized the figure, it was Jack; the guy who landed me in this whole thing in the first place.

"Hello James" He said and walked with me like we were having a pleasant conversation.

"What do you want Jack, I'm sort of in a middle of a challenge, thanks to you"

"Oh I know and I feel dreadfully sorry. It wasn't me you know, it was that crazy girlfriend of yours, Ivory."

"Yeah, I guess..."  I said as we walked outside.

Jack snapped his fingers & suddenly we were in one of those pokemon arenas. There was no crowd, just me & Jack at the opposite sides of the battle field.

"You know James, I can make all this suffering dissappear. No more tournaments, no more fears, just good ol' life as a journalist. All you have to do is take my deal. If you beat me in battle, I will set you free."

I looked at Jack, unsure about it. I think I have learned that dealing with Jack is no good, but that offer was really tempting.

"Really?" I asked.

"Would I lie?"

Of course he would, thats like his trade or something, but on the off chance that I would win, this offer was too good to leave to maybes.

"I accept"

Jack smirked, not the best sign in the world.

"Alright, I have given you a pokemon, it was in your backpack from earlier"

I took out the pokeball & threw it on the ground, a beam of light revealed...Unown.
To say I was in awe of what a lousy pokemon I got was beyond me.
Those of you who don't know what Unown is, it's this thing. I got the 'A' form.

Jack threw his pokeball in the air and as it landed and the beams came out it revealed some sort of weird ghost thing.

"What is that?" I yelled, as I was startled.

"It's a MissingNo, ghost form"

Missingno, if I remember correctly it was a glitch pokemon from pokemon yellow. I felt so cheated, at this moment I realized how screwed up my life would become if I lost this match. I knew that it was probably the most important pokemon battle of my life! If I'd lose this, god knows what would happen.
All these thoughts crossed through my mind as I stared at Jack & that freak of nature Missingno.

I remember having an Unown, just like before it all came back to me, game-wise. Unown only has one move; "Hidden Power", that move is not good at all since its type is dependable on in-game stats and such, unless I'd be in the anime world.

"Unown use hidden power" I yelled.

It used an attack, but as Missingno is type ???, it had no effect.
I was finished, this just kept going round and round. I'd attack to no avail & then that ghost thing would come & attack with Sky attack. Appearantly Missingno knows Sky attack.

I lost, it didn't even take long. Served me right for trusting Jack,.

"Well James...guess you're out of luck"

I was on my knees, angry at my foolishness and his trickery. I got up and punched him in the face.

"Don't do that to good ol' Jack, we had a deal!"

"What happens now?"

"You owe me one, simple as that"

"R-Really?"

"Yeah, in fact I'm gonna cash that one in right now" He said and snapped his fingers.

Everything went dark, I blacked out.

A Day In Skyrim With A Blind Maiden

After falling asleep in the fores, I awoke in the same forest; or so I thought.
It wasn't long until I met another person, a woman by the name of Icosa.

"Uhm...hell-o" I said, the social aspect of life still being a bit fuzzy after the revival.

"Hello stranger, I am Icosa, I assume by the color of your skin that you are a fellow nord?" She said.

"Nord, ehm not sure. Who are you?"

"Surely you must've heard tales of Icosa, the dragonborn?!"

"No, I don't recall... I'm not from around here appearantly"

"Oh a traveler then, where are you from?"

"United Kingdoms"

"Huh, never heard of it. A new place outside of Tamriel?"

Suddenly it clicked, it was like a puzzle piece in the puzzle that is my entire past had been put in. It wasn't a big piece, but it was something. This was Tamriel, the continent in the Elder Scrolls games that I used to play all the time.

I remember playing Skyrim just when it came out & this, Icosa was the character I created, a blind female nord.

This obviously seemed like a challenge, probably because either Malachai or the Worm know how much I love fantasy, I shall expect more challenges like this.

In the distance I could hear a roar that seemed to be approaching us. I knew right away from my gaming what it was, a dragon; an Elder Dragon to be exact.

The majestical creature landed right in front of us & roared.

"Hold it, stand back" Icosa said.

She was exactly like I had pictured her to be in person, a blind person with hightened senses like smell & sound.

Malachai would be proud of my next move, I took out a gun I had & shot one of its wings, putting holes in the it's thin wing skin. It wasn't happy about that.

I had no idea what my level or stat was, if I even qualified as a character. I was unsure if I was in the game itself or this was some kind of illusion, but I figured firing a gun at it would hurt it.

"What is that?"

"It's a firearm that shoots steel nuggets" I said, trying to explain in a manner she would understand.

Our chit-chat about guns was cut short when we had to dodge the firebreath of the dragon. I yelled out "bloody hell" in pain as my right foot didn't make it & was burned by the fire. Icosa also barely made it, but was better off.

She gave me a couple of steel daggers, which I tried throwing at it, which had almost no result. Next thing I know, I aimed my gun at the creature before me & shot the dragon right in the eye. It started to roar in agony and flailing about.

Icosa took the oppurtunity to take her orcish hammer and bury the spike end into its skull, which she didn't succeed at until she did it again and again.

It died after about 5 minutes of Icosa just hammering at it and turned into a skeleton shortly after. But instead of the soul & power of the dragon going into Icosa, it went into me.

I could feel the heartbeat of the dragon as the cold soul slipped through my mouth and into my body, it was uncomfortable to say the least.

"So you're a dragonborn" She said, most likely confused as to why I got the soul.

"I don't think so"

"What are you then?"

"Don't know to be honest!"

"Huh"

"Anyway, all this fighting has made me hungry"

"You barely did anything." She said and chuckled "Come on, Riften is not far from here, we'll eat and rest at the inn"

The way to Riften was quiet. There weren't any monsters or anything & the only sound made was from the birds and me limping forward, cursing every now and then because of the pain. My foot was alright, it just had fourth degree burns on it and every step hurt.

At the inn I ate some meat, treated my leg with some ointment they had there & finally went into my room, which Icosa kindly enough paid.

It was kind of an exhausting day, but at least it was a simple challenge.

Brittania in Winter

I named this blog Flying Through Fantasy, I don't know why.
I just really love fantasy, which people deem ironic with my truth obsession. But I dont deem fantasy to be lies, they are fiction. There is a difference!

Unlike before I'm not just writing in a journal, I'm actually using a smartphone I had on me.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with the journal.

I think Axiom's Wonderland is a good title.
The first thing I did was seeing if Malachai was still alive, I think he is according to his blog, Game Time.
Although it seems that The Worm, that glitch guy that came earlier is taking over the Challenges for some reason.

I'm calling him the Worm, because he gave me the choice.

He said that I could have a day to get adjusted before the challenges came, which would be my third challenge, since I died in the second one.
I've been reading my journal.
As you can tell, I still don't have a clue about my life before the Game Master's tournament, which really is annoying. But I found a scribbling made by me about my former life.

FEBRUARY 19TH 2008 – I MET HER

It was like any typical love story, there wasn’t anything unusal about the ywe met. I was coming home from work and I met her looking at a jewelry storefront. We got to talking and as they say, one thing leads to another. Her name was Ivory, an unusual name for someone in York, but certainly not an unappealing name. We went on a date the same day we met. I was never one to believe in love at first sight, but this was as close as I ever came to it. I certainly do like her, I want to see where this relationship
~James Derek Moxia
So this must be how I met Ivory, sounds lovely.
I kind of miss her, I wonder what she's up to. I'm going to read more, I want to know more about my life.
For some reason parts of my life have appeared in the journal.

What?

Oh god this is uncomfortable...I've yet to really adjust to this. I'm alive again.
Is it just me or was this to be expected, me revived after dying in a tournament. I'm still on a page or at least I think so.
There was this person, he came up to me.

"Hello Axiom"

"Ehm...who are you?"

"Well, your savior for one thing"

"You revived me?"

"Yes"

"But why?"

"Well...first of all you could be useful in order to keep Malachai & Zae under control"

We talked some more, he said his name was The Worm, Rag-Picker or simply Glitch. He said I could call him whatever I wanted.

He told me a lot had happened since I died. The Game Master, some of his emissaries, Malkator and a few others had died. The Tale Weaver's challenges had been put on hold to train my cousin, Zae. It started up again, only to be taken control of by The Worm.

Ivory is nowhere here, not that it would've mattered. I think I sent a clear message.

Jane is also dead.

This is a lonely existence to be brought back into, I wish I was still dead.

The Worm explained to me the Tale Weaver Challenges, like I didn't remember. Fortunately this time I don't have amnesia.
He told me I could rest for a day before I start playing again.

"Oh, before I forget. I have something for you"

He picked up something from his coat, it was a book.

"Here, I figure you'd want this?"

It was my old journal.

"The Quiet absorbed it and spit it out into another world, I figured you'd want it once I'd revived you"

He's being awfully friendly, it makes me almost trust him.
